H.R. 51, the Washington, DC Admission Act

 

WASHINGTON, DC - On Wednesday, April 21 at 1:30 p.m., House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD), Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA-12), Oversight and Reform Committee Chairwoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12), and Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) will hold a press conference ahead of Thursday’s vote in the House on H.R. 51, the Washington, DC Admission Act. The legislation would grant statehood to the residents of the District of Columbia.
