House Oversight & Government Reform Committee to Probe Unprecedented NLRB Intervention in South Carolina Job Creation Project

(WASHINGTON)—A National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) action against the Boeing Company over that firm’s decision to build 787 “Dreamliner” aircraft in South Carolina will be the subject of a June 17 congressional field hearing. The U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will hold a June 17 field hearing in North Charleston to examine factors behind the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) recent decision to take legal action against The Boeing Company after it built a new assembly plant that will employ 4,000 workers in Charleston. If NLRB is successful, it may set a chilling precedent of punishing employers who seek to expand manufacturing to locations outside the influence of powerful labor unions.
