Oversight Subcommittee Hosts Hearing on Lasting Implications of the General Motors Bailout

The House Oversight Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs will host a hearing entitled “Lasting Implications of the General Motors Bailout”, on Wednesday June 22nd, at 1:30 p.m. in Room 2154 Rayburn House Office Building. This hearing will examine the aftermath of the General Motors bailout and the unintended consequences of federal government intervention with the private sector. The hearing will be webcast at https://oversight.house.gov/.

The following witnesses will testify:

• Mr. Ron Bloom, former Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury, U.S. Department of the Treasury

• Mr. Vince Snowbarger , Deputy Director of the Pension Benefits Guaranty Corporation

Panel 2

• Mr. Dan Ikenson, Associate Director of the Herbert A. Stiefel Center for Trade Policy Studies at the Cato Institute

• Mr. Bruce Gump, Vice Chairman of the Delphi Salaried Retiree Association

• Dr. Thomas Kochan, George Maverick Bunker Professor of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

• Ms. Shikha Dalmia, Senior Analyst at the Reason Foundation
