Chaffetz Applauds President’s Immigration Actions

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) issued the following statement after President Trump took action to combat illegal immigration within the United States.

“Today’s announcement is a welcome step forward after eight years of failed immigration policies. There is no doubt our immigration system is broken. We give rewards and incentives to those who come here illegally and penalize individuals who patiently wait in line. Locking down the border, deporting dangerous criminals, and penalizing countries who refuse to repatriate convicted felons sends a message that the United States respects and enforces the rule of law. I applaud the president’s efforts to take action on this high priority issue.”
