Comer: Republicans Have Returned the Oversight Committee to Its Mission

Highlights Republicans’ accomplishments in the first 100 days of the majority

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today released the committee’s accomplishments for the first 100 days of the Republican majority:

“Under Republican leadership, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has returned to its mission of rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government and is holding the Biden Administration accountable. In our first 100 days, the Oversight Committee launched investigations into waste, fraud, and abuse in pandemic relief programs, President Biden’s border crisis, the Biden Administration’s war on American-made energy, the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, COVID origins, the Biden family’s suspicious business schemes, and more. We’ve held 18 hearings with 16 government witnesses, sent over 100 investigative letters, and had seven bills passed by the House, one of which has been signed into law to block the D.C. Council’s soft-on-crime bill. These efforts have laid the foundation for real accountability. The Oversight Committee is only getting started and we will continue working to deliver the answers, transparency, and accountability the American people deserve.”
