Grothman Announces Hearing on Mismanagement of Foreign Aid
WASHINGTON—Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs Chairman Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.) will hold a hearing titled “Accountable Assistance: Reviewing Controls to Prevent Mismanagement of Foreign Aid.” The subcommittee hearing will examine how the federal government, specifically USAID and the State Department, attempts to prevent foreign assistance from getting into the hands of terrorists or other nefarious actors.
“There are conflicts around the globe and it is important to ensure U.S. taxpayer-funded aid sent abroad is being used properly and without waste. The Biden Administration has been pouring aid all over the world and we have significant questions about USAID and the State Department’s process in monitoring and evaluating aid, and if it is meeting intended goals and not falling into the wrong hands. I look forward to discussing this matter with former administration officials at our hearing and getting answers that American taxpayers deserve,” said Subcommittee Chairman Grothman.
