House Adopts Issa Motion to Defund ACORN

WASHINGTON. D.C. – House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) released the following statement regarding the 345-75-2 adoption of the Republican Motion to Recommit for H.R. 3221, which denies ALL Federal funding for ACORN:

“Today’s House vote to deny ACORN Federal funding is an important step that follows action by the Census Bureau and the U.S. Senate. The battle, however, to deny ACORN federal funding is not over until the President signs the bill into law.  ACORN gave significant support to Democrats and Americans must remain vigilant to avoid backtracking or efforts to water down prohibitions denying Federal funds to this corrupt organization.”
