Issa Congratulates Cummings on Selection as Ranking Member of Oversight and Government Reform Committee

WASHINGTON. D.C. – Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), the incoming Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, tonight issued the following statement congratulating Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) on his selection by the House Democratic Caucus to be the next Ranking Member of the oversight panel:

“Throughout the Bush Administration, Congressman Cummings was one of the most vocal members of the Congress in highlighting the need for vigorous oversight of the executive branch and the federal bureaucracy. I have no doubt that Elijah will continue to champion the cause of oversight and reform in government and work in concert with Committee Republicans to root out the waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement that has become institutionalized in the federal government.”
