Chairman Chaffetz Statement on Deadly Shooting at Suitland Federal Center

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (UT-03) issued the following statement in the wake of yesterday’s deadly incident at the Suitland Federal Center.  

“Yesterday’s shooting death of Officer Lawrence Buckner at the Suitland Federal Center is an unimaginable and heartbreaking loss for his family and for the broader Census Bureau family. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this tragic and traumatic event. We honor the ultimate sacrifice of Officer Buckner who was killed in the line of duty protecting his fellow co-workers. I will be praying for a full and fast recovery for the officers who were injured during this incident as well. I wish comfort and peace upon all of those who are grieving in this difficult time.”
