Chemical Safety Board Improvements Occurring in Response to Committee Oversight

WASHINGTON— Today during a public business meeting, the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) took an important step forward by reversing controversial Board Order 2015-01. The board order, which consolidates much of the Board’s power solely with the Chairman, was passed by former Chairman Moure-Eraso on January 28, 2015 without any notice to the Board.

“The removal of Mr. Moure-Eraso and the reversal of this board order are important developments in the comprehensive efforts to improve internal management at the Chemical Safety Board. I am pleased to see that progress is already being made. I hope the Board continues this positive momentum by taking further steps to remove those in leadership positions who contribute to the CSB’s standing as one of the very worst places to work in the federal government,” said Chairman Jason Chaffetz.
