McClain to Hold Hearing on Protecting Female Athletics and Title IX
WASHINGTON—Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) today announced a hearing titled “The Importance of Protecting Female Athletics and Title IX” to examine the Biden Administration’s Title IX proposed rules which redefine sex discrimination on the basis of “gender identity,” likely harming the women that Title IX was designed to protect.
“Congress must do everything it can to protect women’s sports. The Biden Administration is putting women’s safety, privacy, and opportunities at risk by dismantling Title IX. We look forward to hearing from Riley Gaines and other witnesses firsthand about how these rules changes harm fairness and protection for women in women’s sports across the country,” said Chairwoman McClain.
