Oversight Presses IRS on 15 Technology Questions Surrounding ‘Lost’ Lois Lerner E-mails

Committee requests information in advance of Commissioner’s testimony Monday at 7 p.m.

WASHINGTON –House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., today requested that IRS Commissioner John Koskinen provide the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee with answers to 15 technology questions related to the loss of former IRS Exempt Organizations Director Lois Lerner’s e-mails in advance of his 7 p.m. Monday, June 23 testimony before the Oversight Committee.

“Please be prepared to discuss the Internal Revenue Service’s e-mail systems, data retention policies, and document production processes,” Chairman Issa wrote Saturday in a letter to IRS Commissioner Koskinen.  “Because the IRS has refused to provide basic information about these matters to the Committee in advance of the hearing, and in the interest of promoting a frank and thorough discussion at the hearing, I ask that you provide answers to the factual questions posed below.”
