White House Fiscal Responsibility Summit an Opportunity to Produce Solutions, Not Just Rhetoric

WASHINGTON. D.C. – House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) has accepted an invitation to participate in the President’s “Fiscal Responsibility Summit” that will be held on Monday afternoon. The summit will include members of his Administration, congressional representatives from both parties and advocacy groups.

“This ‘summit’ can yield more than just ideas and dialogue – it should produce the framework for what can be a comprehensive and bipartisan path forward,” Issa said.  “There isn’t a single person across the ideological spectrum that doesn’t recognize the significant hardships Americans are experiencing because of the current economic crisis.  We have an opportunity to move beyond the partisan gridlock of recent weeks and coalesce behind common-sense policies that can get America working again.”
