Issa Statement on Administration’s Latest Recovery Act Propaganda

WASHINGTON D.C. – Rep. Darrell Issa, the Ranking Member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, released the following statement today regarding the Obama Administration’s latest act of propaganda claiming a correlation between jobs “funded” and jobs “created”:

“From the same folks who brought us the inaccurate and impossible to measure jobs “created or saved” metric, comes new numbers of jobs “funded” despite the fact that jobs funded has virtually nothing to do with the number of net new jobs created.  You could currently employ 500 people, receive a $10 million contract from the stimulus tomorrow, and, under the Administration’s accounting, have to report to have funded 500 jobs without hiring an additional person.  The number of jobs funded says nothing about whether the stimulus is meeting the Administration’s goal of long-term, full-time job creation.  Most Americans recognize it is not.”
