Comer, Thompson Statement on GAO Report on Foreign Ownership of U.S. Farmland

WASHINGTON—Following the publication of a requested report on foreign ownership and investment in U.S. farmland by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Committee on Agriculture Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-Pa.) issued the following statement:

“Growing foreign ownership of U.S. farmland, particularly by China, poses a direct threat to our food security and national security.
