Committee Unanimously Approves Secret Service Report
WASHINGTON—Today, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a markup to consider the bipartisan U.S. Secret Service report, along with two pieces of legislation and four postal naming bills. The following actions were taken by the Committee:
The Committee favorably reported the United States Secret Service: An Agency in Crisis to the full U.S. House of Representatives.
Additionally, the Committee passed the following bills by unanimous consent:
- H.R. 4180, the Fraud Reduction and Data Analytics Act of 2015 (Rep. Meadows, R-NC); Strengthens agency fraud prevention and detection efforts by requiring agencies to adopt more proactive measures; requires the establishment of a multiagency working group, chaired by the Controller of OMB.
- S. 1698, the Treatment of Certain Payments in Eugenics Compensation Act (Sen. Tillis, R-NC); Prevents payments received from a state eugenics compensation program from being considered as income when determining eligibility for federal benefits.
- H.R. 1132, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1048 West Robinhood Drive in Stockton, California, as the “W. Ronald Coale Memorial Post Office Building” (Rep. McNerney, D-CA);
- H.R. 2458, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 5351 Lapalco Boulevard in Marrero, Louisiana, as the “Lionel R. Collins, Sr. Post Office Building” (Rep. Richmond, D-LA);
- H.R. 3735, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 200 Town Run Lane in Winston Salem, North Carolina, as the “Maya Angelou Memorial Post Office” (Rep. Adams, D-NC);
- H.R. 4046, To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 220 East Oak Street, Glenwood City, Wisconsin, as the “Second Lt. Ellen Ainsworth Memorial Post Office” (Rep. Duffy, R-WI).
