Fallon Announces Hearing on Biden Administration’s Radical Green Regulation on Americans’ Gas Stoves

WASHINGTON—Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs Chairman Pat Fallon (R-Texas) will hold a hearing titled “Consumer Choice on the Backburner: Examining the Biden Administration’s Regulatory Assault on Americans’ Gas Stoves.” The subcommittee hearing will examine the Department of Energy’s (DOE) proposed rule for gas stoves, which would impact at least half of new gas stoves sold in the U.S. The hearing will review the impacts of DOE’s regulatory overreach on consumer choice and appliance manufacturers, examine the rule in the context of the Biden Administration’s wave of new regulatory burdens on American consumers’ home appliances, and expose flaws in DOE’s energy efficiency analysis of gas stoves.

“Next up on the Biden Administration’s radical green agenda chopping block are Americans’ gas stoves. The DOE has released the kitchen sink of progressive regulation aimed at American consumers who are already feeling the crunch of inflation and rising energy costs. The Biden Administration’s delusional regulations attempt to micromanage every aspect of Americans’ lives by eliminating consumer choice – including how they choose to cook their food. This subcommittee just held a hearing on the Biden Administration’s push for Americans to buy expensive and unnecessary electric vehicles that we don’t have the grid capacity to support. The Oversight Committee is having none of this. We stand at the ready to defend Americans’ wallets and restore consumer choice which the DOE’s proposed rules aim to destroy,” said Subcommittee Chairman Fallon.
