ICYMI: Comer Joins Meet the Press, Warns Republicans Will Put An End to Biden Admin’s Unchecked One-Party Rule

WASHINGTON–House Committee on Oversight and Reform Chairman-elect James Comer (R-Ky.) joined “Meet the Press” on NBC News to discuss how a Republican majority will conduct rigorous oversight over President Biden and end the Biden Administration’s unchecked one-party rule. Chairman-elect Comer also warned that to address the national debt, Congress must rein in spending and pass a balanced budget amendment.

On the Biden Family Investigation
“The only people that see this as a partisan investigation are the media and the hardcore Democrats. Look, at the same moment that Democrats on the Ways and Means Committee released Donald Trump’s taxes, they turned around and said, ‘Comer’s investigation of the Biden family influence peddling is a revenge hearing.’” said Chairman-elect Comer. “A new Harvard poll shows 65 percent of Americans believe the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop should be investigated. Let me be clear: We’re not investigating Hunter Biden. We’re investigating Joe Biden. Any American who has kept up with the political process over the past two administrations would agree. We need to know what is allowable and what isn’t allowable with respect to foreign adversarial intervention among family members of presidents of the United States.”

On Government Spending
“The American people need to see that there are people in Congress that are serious about the federal debt. This is something that’s being passed to our children and grandchildren. It puts America further behind China in the long term. Our debt is one of the biggest threats we face to national security. What we’re doing here is important. We’re going to have to have spending cuts at some point.” continued Chairman-elect Comer.
