Oversight and Judiciary Committees Release Carol Fox Transcript

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Committee on the Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) today released the transcript from the committees’ transcribed interview with Carol Fox, a trustee for Americore’s bankruptcy proceedings. The full transcript can be found here.

Background: As the U.S. Trustee for the Chapter 11 proceedings regarding Americore, Carol Fox filed a lawsuit against James Biden alleging he made “representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’ and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.”  According to the lawsuit, and corroborated by bank records, Americore transmitted $600,000 to James and Sara Bidens’ personal bank accounts. On March 1, 2018, Americore wired a $200,000 loan into James and Sara Biden’s personal bank account – not their business bank account. On the same day, James Biden wrote a $200,000 check from this same personal bank account to Joe Biden.  The lawsuit demanded that James Biden repay Americore the $600,000, which Americore referenced as a “loan.”
