  • To explore the benefits conservation grazing provides in restoring and maintaining grassland and heathland ecosystems.

BACKGROUND:

  • Conservation grazing is the use of grazing livestock to maintain and increase the biodiversity of natural or semi-natural grasslands, heathlands, wood pasture, wetlands, and many other habitats.
  • Conservation grazing has proven beneficial in restoring and maintaining grassland and heathland ecosystems.
  • Grazed lands have shown a decline in both the density and the diversity of vegetation when grazers are removed.
