Grothman & Biggs Announce Joint Field Hearing to Examine Effects of Biden Border Crisis on American Communities
WASHINGTON—Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs Chairman Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.) and the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance Chairman Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) will hold a joint field hearing titled “Biden’s Border Crisis and its Effect on American Communities” on August 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. PT. The joint subcommittee hearing will explore the ongoing humanitarian and national security crisis at the southern border and its devastating impact on American communities. A law enforcement official on the front lines of the border crisis, a local resident who has faced the brunt impact of the Biden Administration’s failed border policies, and an expert on border and immigration issues will testify.
“President Biden’s policies have ignited a crisis at the southern border and harmed the lives of residents both local and across the country. We have seen firsthand on past committee trips to the border how illegal border crossing surges, incentivized by the radical policies coming out of this Administration, have wreaked havoc on local communities and negatively affected the lives of residents and law enforcement. Our joint field hearing will be a unique opportunity to see firsthand the devastating impacts of the Biden Administration’s failed policies at the border and explore ways that Congress can assist,” said Subcommittee Chairmen Grothman and Biggs.
