Issa Welcomes Addition of 16 New Republicans to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform

WASHINGTON D.C. – Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), the incoming Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform today announced that the House Republican Steering Committee has approved the addition of sixteen new Republican Members to the Committee to join Reps. Dan Burton (R-IN), Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Patrick McHenry (R-NC), John Mica (R-FL) and Michael Turner (R-OH) who will remain on the Committee.

“There couldn’t be a better team to stand on the frontline of the effort to reign in a federal bureaucracy that has institutionalized waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement,” Issa said. “I am particularly excited to have so many incoming members join this Committee with a new mandate to make government more accountable and transparent. Their enthusiasm and commitment to reforming government so that it works better for the American people will be the driving force behind this Committee’s success.”
