The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee today released a new staff report on the Obama Administration’s Navigator and Assister program in conjunction with today’s field hearing in Dallas, Texas.

“The Department’s hostility toward questions from Congress and the media about the implementation of ObamaCare is well known,” Chairman Issa writes. “The Department’s most recent effort to stonewall, however, has morphed from mere obstinacy into criminal obstruction of a congressional investigation.”

A new e-mail chain released by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., states that just days prior to HealthCare.gov’s launch, a top HealthCare.gov official discussed White House fears about the website being unavailable and accurately predicted media outlets publicizing a now well-known error message that appears when the website is down.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee today released new documents that show CGI Federal, Inc., one of the major contractors who built HealthCare.gov, warned the Obama Administration of problems with the website just weeks before the October 1st launch date.

“Today, across the country, Americans are attempting to purchase health insurance on Obamacare exchanges and are being met with crashing websites, missing price information, confusing forms and in some cases, exchanges that had to delay their start date because they aren’t ready yet," Chairman Issa said.

"The House has repeatedly voted to repeal Obamacare because it will not work and is bad public policy."

“Our staffs have attempted to work with Treasury in a cooperative manner regarding our request and they have tried repeatedly to accommodate Treasury’s concerns about producing the documents, but Treasury refuses to be forthcoming with the Committees,” the letter states.

The materials relate to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) decision to extend eligibility for health care subsidies delivered via state-established insurance exchanges to also include individuals enrolled in the federally-run exchanges despite having no authority to do so under ObamaCare.
